Jerry has finished "Kootenay Lake
Survival" mantel for our customer's new home in British Columbia, Canada. The
elements carved into the mantel face at the left and right ends wrap into the
left and right returns. The blue heron's body at center right is carved for the top of the
mantel, but his head and feet are carved into the "water." The top is carved out to mimic the surface of the lake, which will allow light
to filter from above the mantel into the carving. This mantel was commissioned
for extra depth of carving along the 24" center.
